Happy New Year 2009


Whow… we are in the last hour to 2009 right here in Singapore.

How’s time fly.

As i reflect on the activities that i have done in 2008, the successes and the failures, i thank GOD for 2008.

This is a year where i have increase my network of friends, making more friends on the Net than the year before.

As a reader of my blog, i truely thank you for your support in 2008 and wish to thank you for your support in 2009.

I hope to contribute to MORE valuable content to this blog so that YOU can benefit from it tremendously.

You know what?  Today, in the last day of 2008, i met Super Affiliate Ewen Chia on the street at Bugis.

We greet each other, shake hands and wish each other a happy and properous new year.

Yes, happy and properous are what we need in a year of economic crisis around the globe in 2008.

My wish for next year is a happy and properous new year to you and me and everyone around the globe.

What Is The Best Domain Name For Your Blog?


This topic is a bit controversial.

 There are no rights and wrongs, just opinion.

 Most of the time, you see people registered their name as the domain for their blog.

Well…. this is fine and well if we are blogging for fun and for leisure.

What if you are an internet marketer and you are using a blog to promote yourself, your business and your products/services?

In my opinion, it is not appropriate to use your name as the domain name for your blog in this case.

Hold the punch….. if you are already using your name as the blog name.  I am just giving my opinion, ok?

The best way to brand your business is to do it under your business name or your product name, not your own name.

Why?

 What if you die? (sorry to mentioned this fact here, especially as the new year is coming.  But this is the fact, we will die one day, including myself ) 

Can your business be pass on or continue by the next generation? Yes, maybe… but the impact will not be the same anymore.

And what if you want to sell away your business?

Will anyone buy over your already successful and profitable business it is brand under your name?

 As for your blog, what if you want to sell it away?  Can you? Or rather, will anyone want to buy it?  Oh yeah, people may want to buy it for the traffic it generated but as for business continuation, it will be difficult.

That’s why i brand my blog under the name “Embrace Internet Wealth” and not Yew Heng Chiong.

Yes, i have registered a domain name YewHengChiong.com which is redirect to EmbraceInternetWealth.com.  However, i am still marketing my business under EmbraceInternetWealth.com.

This is just my opinion and i appreciate your comments and feedbacks here.

How To Increase The Responsiveness Of Your List Part 3


In my last two posts on ‘How To Increase The Responsiveness of you List’ series,  i mentioned that finding your targeted readers and building relationship with them are the key to increase the responsiveness of your list.

Today, i will share with you a sneaky little secret to increase the responsiveness of your list many folds.

Ready for it?

This is a big one….

If you can describe their problem better than themselves, they will see you as a expert and confide in you.

You see, if they see you as the expert who can solve their deepest problem, they will stick to you like leeches.  You are kind of like creating a cult movement.

Internet is like the big ocean and the fishes in the ocean are your prospects, readers and customers.  They are spread all over the world, with different beliefs, culture, habits etc etc.

You are hungry right?  You want to go fishing right?

You rent a boat and go fishing with a fishing rod, where would you start?  It’s a big ocean out there and the fishes are shatter EVERYWHERE.  Maybe if you are lucky, you caught one or two fishes. 

What if you cast a net instead? Maybe you will caught more fishes this time?  Changing your fishing rod to a net is like changing your tools to conduct your marketing business.

How can you get the fishes come raving to you in masses to beg you to catch them?

Not possible?  What if i tell you that the best fishing spots are near a man made structure?

Any guesses?

It’s beneath the oil rig that you can find huge numbers of fishes. 

The huge legs of the rig start to organically grow algae and soon enough clams come to feed on the algae.  Little fishes will come to eat the clams and the little fishes will attract bigger fish and all the way until sharks are also swarming beneath the oil rig.

If you cast your net at the oil rig, didn’t it increases your chances of profitable, oh… i mean it will increase the masses of fish being caught, right?

Exactly!

If you give away highly valuable free content, content that describe your readers problems better than themselves, they will feel tht you understand them and they are more willing to stick with you and stay close to your oil rig.  They see you as their guru and authority.  

What if you throw your net and launch a new product?  They will jump on it!

Another lesson to learn here.  People do just buy your product or service, they buy because of you.  They buy both your product or service and YOU.

Disney Goes Viral


Yes, Disney did it again. Remember yahoo mail? They give away free email service and the whole world is promoting it like crazy. All of the sudden, yahoo mail become the BEST advertisement electronic platform on planet earth.

To do that, you need to build into your advertisement a viral element.  Like the case of Yahoo mail, you use it to sent email to your friends and your friends will use it to sent email to you and their friends.

The multiplication effect keep compounding.

Disney is doing this as well.  Check out how this little advertisement from Disney will soon spread to everyone in the whole world at the fastest ever speed.  This is viral marketing.

It’s call ‘Disney Parks / Pass It On!

What it does is that it allow you to customize a Disney video with your friend name on it.  It is as if the whole movie is done just for your friend.

When i first received such an email from my friend, i am pleased.

How To Increase The Responsiveness Of Your List Part 2


In my previous post, we know that we can increase the responsiveness of your list by recruiting targeted prospects to your list.

Now that you have a list of prospects that are interested in your product or service, you need to build up a strong relationship with them.

How can you build a strong relationship with your list?

Well.. first of, you can listen to them.  The best form of communication is where your prospects know that you listen to them and most importantly, care for them.

You can do so by doing a short survey or using web 2.0 to collaborate with them.  Get them involved and read their feedbacks and comments. 

After which, you can integrate their requests in your product and service.  In this way, they know that you listen and really care for them.   This is what i mean by relationship building.

Most of the time people don’t buy from you because they do not trust you or your product or service.  By listening to them and react to their need, this will increase their trust level.

Another complimentary way to building relationship with your list is to write to them like a buddy.  Write to your list as if you are just writing to one person, your buddy.  They will appreciate you better and can possibly converted to be your life time customers.

Most importantly, treat your prospects and customers well and always think in their shoes.  If you are consistent in building a fantastic relationship with your list, they will reward you in the long run. :-)

How To Increase The Responsiveness Of Your List Part 1


Every internet marketers know that the money is in the list.

However, this statement is only half true. The money is in a ‘RESPONSIVE‘ list.

I have seen internet marketer who has a much smaller list that outperform others who has a much bigger list base when promoting the same product as affiliate.

Here are the pre-requisites of a responsive list:

1)  They have the money to buy from you.2)  They have a strong emotional motivator to buy your stuff.3)  They are proactively looking for a solution to the problem that you can sell them. 4)  There are few or no perceived option (in THIER opinion) to the solution that you are selling them.If all this four criterias are met, then you have a highly responsive list that are ready and eager to give you their money in exchange for the solution that you give them. They are hungry and thirsty buying customers.

One way to increase your list responsiveness is that you need to know where to advertise to capture your lead.

What if i tell you that yahoo search is popular with a bunch of kids with no money to buy from you while Goggle search is used by opportunity seekers who have all the money in the world to buy from you?

How will this affect how you will spent your advertising dollars in PPC campaigning?

Of course, you will want to bet your money to advertise on Google instead of Yahoo PPC right?

The lesson that you learn here is that you need to know where your target responsive lists hang out and advertise at the right media or use the right advertising mean to get capture their eyeballs and entice them to join your mailing list.

How Do You Enter Into The Mind Of Your Prospect Part II?


How do you enter into the mind of your readers without doing a survey as i have show you in Part I?

In the Internet age, you can do so by checking out what your market is searching in google search.

Here is a free tool from google where you can capture the most frequent search phrase of your target market.  This is it: http://freeadwordstool.com

If you want to search for what other is buy on the internet, just do a search with the keyword “buy”.  You see… “buy” is a strong buying signal from the mind of your prospects.

You can see the return result of all sort of buying phrases as shown in the diagram below:

Let’s say we want to sell car to the market.  So we search for the keywords “buy car”

You can see that people are searching for all sort of car to buy.  Here is a few of the searching phrases: “buy used car’, “buy new car”, “buy ford car”. 

By looking at the search volume of the search phrase, you can potentially see how big your market can be.

Here are the return result for the keyword “buy car”:

Guess what?  Let say if “buy ford car” has a moderate search volume but has less advertising competitive, then you could enter into the ford car market. 

But then again, what do people want to buy in term of ford car?  Are they looking to buy the car, the car accessories or whatever?

You can drill into the mind of your target market by doing a keyword search for the keyword “buy ford car”.

I think you got it right now….

Use it for your market reserch and read the mind of your prospects wihtout them knowing.

How Do You Enter Into The Mind Of Your Prospect?


This is the key to successful mind control, especially useful for copywriter.

Copywriter want to enter into the mind of their readers so that they can establish an instant connection with them.

For example, if you are you are out shopping and you are stopping to admire a high definition images projected from an LCD screen. 

What if the sales person come and approach you and ask ‘Hi Sir, can i help you?’.

Will you response positvely to the sales person?

Now, let’s change the approach message from the sales person.

What if the same sales person ask ‘Hi Sir, the high definition pictures projected by this LCD is awesome, isn’t it?’

Will you response better to him now than when he come to you with the first approach?

Now the question is ‘How then do you know what your prospect is thinking inside their mind?’

You do not have the machine that can tap into their brain and draw out everything that they are thinking at the moment. At least, such a machine does not exist.  Even if they do, they will be too expensive.

Here is a way where you can dig deep into your prospects mind.

All you need to do is to simply ask them?

Yes, ask them what they are thinking at the moment.  You can do this under the radar with a survey.   Ask a few questions that is totally un-realated to the ‘real’ question that you want to ask them and then slowly but surely, move into the question that you want to ask them.

In part 2 of ‘How Do You Enter Into The Mind Of Your Prospect?’, i will share with you another trick to read the mind of your prospects without doing any survey.  For the survey method, you are the initiator.  As for this amazing trick that i wil share with you in part 2, your readers are the intiator.  Yes, they actually tell you want is in their mind with you asking them.

How To Increase Your Sales Conversion The BIG Way


I have been thinking for a while now…

What is the best and most efficient way to increase sales conversion rate in any business?

Finally, i think i have found the answer.

As a copywriter myself, i am biased that the best way to increase sales conversion is to learn how to write sizzling and emotional sales letter that get people to buy.

Some marketer like Jeff Walker will tell you to turn the sales letter side-ward.  What he meant is that you need to create a chain of prelaunch events to stir up the anticipation and the buying emotion of your prospects so that at launch date, they will gate crashed your payment gateway.

Other marketers will tell you that you need to include videos in your selling process as it involves all aspect of your prospects senses.

While some will tell you that selling in person instead of via a website is still the best way to convert a prospect.

I do agree that selling in person is better way to convert a prospect but it is not the most potent or ultimate way.

So what is the most lethal and best way to selling that will convert in a massive way?

The answer is to gather your prospects in a function or seminar, give them good solid content and sell them like crazy at the end.

Isn’t this how churches, cult group control their members?  Not only that, there is a viral effect in gathering group in a function or seminar.  It will grow exponentially if it is done right.

I could only guess that it is inherent in us to gather and socialize.  We need to feel belong.  That is why function and seminar attracts people. 

When your prospects and customers are gathered in your function or seminar, you can control and manipulate their buying decision by influencing their emotion.

This is the reason why in the past few years, many internet marketers have realized this fact and have been organizing a lot offline seminar where they will sell the shit out of their audiences or attendee.

The ultimate marketing is to gather group and sell the shit out of them!  The other part to ultimate marketing is to grow the group or groups so that you can sell to the masses.
