I am watching a video clip by Tom Beal on ‘How to attain your online goals in the least amount of time possible”.  If you do not know who is Tom Beal, he is in the Mike Filsaime team.  If you do a google search for ‘Tom Beal’, i am sure you will read a lot of good things about him.

My lung is about to burst as i could not hold on to what Tom is sharing with me.  It resonates so well with me that i got to share it with you.

Here are the steps that Tom revealed.

- Figure out the result you want.

My comment: Very True.  You need to figure out what you want for your online business.  Imagine that you go on board on a taxi and told the driver that you do not know where you wan to go.  You need to be clear and know what you want to achieve in online business.  Eg. How much you want to make in specific figure and how big do you want to grow your subscriber database.

- Find someone who has already accomplished the result you desire and get them to tell you what to do and what not to do. 

My comment:  Whow. This resonate so well with me.  If someone has walk through the path that you are going to undertake and can show you how to get there, avoiding all the obtacles on your way there, then do you think it will benefit you tremendously?  Patric Chan has spent 6 years on the street growing his internet business to where it is now ( a million dollars online empire).  He know the dip and the landmine and can show you how to avoid them and speed up your online success. - Do exactly what they tell you to do and don’t do what they tell you not to do. 

My comment: Again, this hammer in the point.  For example, if you are coach by Patric Chan and myself through our RPS2 coaching program, when we told you not to use social bookmarking, then do not attempt to use it.  Just follow the step by step action plan for you to grow your internet business.  Do not add anything extra to the system that we ask you to build.  We know what we are teaching you as we have been there.

- Have them hold you accountable and keep you on track with your goals and actions.

I was in Penang, Malaysia last weekend.  Well, if you have read my earlier post, you will know that i met up with Patric Chan there.  Together, we are offering a Internet Marketing coaching program which we coined as RPS2.0.

It is at Penang when i am shopping with one of my friend, Allan Hui that we come across this interesting donation gimmick.  If you have not seen the video yet, go click on it and watch it now.

Do you think that it is easy for the coins to spine down the basin in such perfection?  Yes, it is easy if you know how.  My friend Allan is throwing coins to the basin and the result is nowwhere near to what you see in the video.  It is a sight where the coins funnel into the central hole of the basin with spining. 

He tried and tried but could not get the result that he want.  Finally, we notice that there is a mechanical device at the side of the basin as shown below (see the device circled by the red circle).

If you drop the coin from this mechanical device, it will guaranteed to spine down the basin nicely. 

Here is the Greatest Life lesson.  Do not give up when you failed in your business or any endeavour. All you need to do is to change your strategy and once you get the right strategy, your business will be in a ROLL.  After that, you can simply repeat and duplicate the same success strategy to other business and you can now spine the coins with a nice spinning momentum.

So in whatever you do, never, never give up! Now for the Greatest Marketing lesson.  You see… everyone is fancinated by the spinning of the coins in the basin and more people are throwing coins down the basin.  Isn’t this the easiest donation drive ever?  In every marketing effort, you need to factor in Entertainment and Fun.  People will pay you more money that you ever dream of if you give your customers a fun and entertaining experience. 

It is the same when you are promoting your product on the internet.  Just look at the recent launch of Butterfly marketing 2.0 by Mike Filsaime and you can see Fun and Entertainment in his marketing campaign.   Few hours before the official launch of the Butterfly Marketing 2.0, Mike and the team are entertaining the internet crowds with a live webcam broadcast of himself and his team dancing to some funky music and also with a live chat box for his potential buyers to chat and gossip. 

The internet marketing industry is heading in a spiral downward trend.

No. Don’t get me wrong.  You can still make a lot of money marketing online.  In spite of the economy performing under the water, many marketers are still making a lot of money marketing online in present time.

Here is the thing.  The entire industry is flooded with internet marketers who lie just to get their customers money out front.  Not all internet marketers are like that.  There are good honest internet marketers who make money online with great products, awesome marketing strategy and provide a lot of good value to their customers.

However, many are trying to pull a fast ‘Joe Kumar’.  If you are in this industry long enough, Joe Kumar is a little guy in Singapore who are catch with fraud, cheating his JV partner of his copywriting rights and reputation, way back in 2003.  He has seen fled Singapore and no one know where he is residing in right now.  To sum it all, he is the ‘bad sheep’ of the industry. 

Joe Kumar also lie about his promise that he is only offering the master resales right of his famous “How to get out of poverty in 30 days, with no money and everything but just a notebook and an internet connection” book.  In the book, he interviews 60 experts who lay out step by step what they will do on a daily basis to get out of poverty with internet marketing in 30 days.

In his sales letter that promote the master resales right of his book, he mentioned that the offer is only given to 10 lucky customer.  However, many who have brought from him have later realized that he is pulling a quick buck out from them.  He has sold the master resales right of the product to more than 30 person.

Well… i am not pointing a finger at Joe Kumar.  Everyone has a past and he could be a change person now.  The point that i want to elaborate is that, there are many Joe Kumar in the internet marketing industry at the present.  Most of them lie in the exact same manner as Joe. 

They promised that only a certain copies of their product are to be sold.  Once the limited copies are sold, they will pull the product out from the industry.  Most lie about it.  If the demand is good, most of them sold more than than the limited number that they have said.  Do you not think they lie?

Yes, i know that they are using the limited number as a marketing bait to generate scarcity and get everyone to take action to buy.  This is alright.  But what went wrong is that they lie to their customers and sold more copies than the acutual numbers that they promised.  Come on… a promise is a promise.  You can’t break them just because you want to put more money into your pocket.

Some internet marketers even manufactured reasons why they increase the original number of volume offered.  This is know as ‘Reason why’ marketing.  Again i have nothing against ‘Reason Why’ marketing.  Indeed, i use it myself in my marketing effort.  What went wrong here is that internet marketers lie and give fake reasons to increase the numbers of their original limited offer.

As internet marketer, we need to be honest and protect our integrity with highest vigilance.   Eventually, when people get burned of their hard earn money and realized how they have been lied to, there will be more careful not to fall into the same marketing trap again.  Or do we need to reinvent the entire internet marketing industry and come out with a brand new marketing system that promote honesty, integrity and yet make us a lot of money?  How about calling it “Integrity Marketing”?   This is my five cents worth of opinion and do give your feedback as comments in this post.

Yesterday, at the launch of Butterfly Marketing 2.0 where Mike Filsaime is giving away his $1,997 worth of his renowed Butterfly Marketing 2.0 for Free. 

However, there are two catches.

Firstly, you will need to pay a small amount of about $40 for the shipment and handling fees.  My guess is that the $40 is good enough to pay for the shipment plus the cost of the raw material eg. DVD, books.  Of course, i am talking about raw material here, not information.

As you probably already know, a DVD is cheap but when it is recorded with information (especially high perceived value information), the value of the DVD package will sky rocket.

So… i am not referring to the Butterfly Marketing Package as a whole, i am just referring to the raw material that hold the information and software.

In that sense, Mike Filsaime will not loss money even if you cancel your monthly newsletter subscription.  Yes, it took him a lot of time and money to come up with Butterfly Marketing script and information.  However, this is just a one time cost and thereafter, it is just duplication and production.

Ohh.. at this point, i need to share with you the second catch.  It is just been mentioned in the last paragraph.  The Free Butterfly Marketing 2.0 is use as a marketing bait to log you down to his monthtly paid newsletter.  This is essentially a continuity program, money for Mike every month, without him lifting a finger.  How good can that be?

All in all, it is a win-win situation for both Mike Filsaime and his buyers.  The buyers got to own his Butterfly Marketing 2.0 for free and Mike Filsaime has a steady paycheck deliver to his mailbox every  single month.  Of course, he has a duty to provide highly valuable content every month to his paid customers so that they can stay subscribed.

Now come the main topic of discussion here.  Initially, Mike Filsaime create such a frenzy in the market place as he prelaunched this campaign with the slogon that SHOUT like this ”Only 5000 copies are given out for Free.  After the 5000 copies are gone, you will have to pay $1997 for it”.

Of course, everyone is excited and want a pie of the cake and EVERYONE want to be his first 5000 customers who has the priviledge to get it for free.

Interestingly… come launch day, he reported that his server crashed due to high traffic.  As a result of this problem and as good will, he has decided to extend another 10,000 copies of Butterfly Marketing 2.0 for Free.  In total, he is giving away 15,000 copies of Butterfly Marketing 2.0.

Can you believe him? Is the server crashes incident a preplan marketing gimmick?  He should have anticipate that to happen and size up the server capacity before hand.  Let face it, he want as many people to subscribe to his monthly newsletter as possible.  Doesn’t it make more sense that the more people subscribe to his newsletter, the more money he will make every month?

Let’s do some maths.

To round up his monthly newsletter cost, we put it up as $40 per month.

If he has 5000 paid members, he is getting $200K every month.

However, what if he has 15,000 paid members?  He will be getting $600K every month.

Anyway, Mike deserves to make that type of obscense amont of money as he provide good value.  Hopefully, we can see it in his monthly newsletter.
