If you are internet marketer, you will most like to open this email unless you are top notch earner where you are numb to seeing such email at your inbox.

Normally, this subject line is use by your payment gateway where they automatically sent you an email when you have make a sales online.

But some internet marketers are using this subject line in their marketing email. In the email body text, they will ask you to imagine how nice if you have recieved such email with this subject line every time and how their product or service can help you to realize the dream.

I do not know about others, but i got pissed off by that. Initially, i am excited and i thought i have make a sales. But my excitment turn into disappointment when i read the body text.

Do you think i click on to the promotional link? Absolutely NOT!

Maybe this little email tactic can work on some, but not for all people or rather internet marekter.

Anywhere, it’s up to you if you want to use this little email trick in your email marketing. You may want to test it out and compare the sales result. Ultimately, the sales result speak for itself.

Just a while ago, i have received an email with this subject headline “Item #19 – Notification of Payment Received From Redford White”.

 Did i made a sales?

 No!

This is just a headline that some internet marketer use to entice me to open up the email to read it.   In a nutshell, the email is selling me a make money online package.

Yes, it certainly entice me to read the email with a subject line like this.  So the question here is: “Do this type of subject headline  effective?”

I don’t think so… Why?

When people click on to read the email and notice that this is not a payment receipt but some marketing slogan, they will get piss off.

Do you think people will read your mail content with the right frame of mind if they get piss off?  Just think about it…

What’s the use if you have a high number of click through to read your email but no one actually want to click on your url to read your sales letter?

Have you ever received an email with the subject line ‘Re: blah blah blah….’?

If you read the email content, you will realized that the email does not originate from you.  Normally, when your recipient reply your email, the mailer automatically append  ‘RE’ before the subject line so that you can differentiate between a normal email and a replied email.

If you see a ‘RE:’ at the subject line, you will more likely to read the mail content as you want to find out what your recipient has to say about your original email to him.  It’s always automatic that you will click on such email and read it.

As you subscribe to more internet marketing list, you will realized that some of the emails with the subject line prefix with ‘RE:’ come right from the autoresponder instead.

Ha…. it seen like the internet marketers out there are so desperate for click through of their emails from their clients that they will do whatever it takes, even incorporating this little email psychological trick, just to GET you to read their email.

You cannot blame them as in this age where attention is scarce, you need to think hard and do just about anything to capture your prospect attention.

Attention = Money.  If you can capture their attention, you are in a position to ask for their money.

If you are an internet marketer, you will know that the purpose of a headline of a sales letter is to capture the readers attention and get them to read on…

The subject line of an email has the same objective as a headline.  It’s sole purpose is to capture the attention of the readers and get them to open the email and read on….

As i am an internet marketer, i have subscribed to the newsletters of many other fellow internet marketers and find the subject line that they have used to be pretty amazing….

1.)  Use Plain Text

Only use plain text with no fancy backgrounds, colors, cute little graphics etc.

You want black words on a white background…just like what you see in this blog.  Anything else is to hard to read and cannot be properly handled by some email clients.

2.)  Use A Maximum of 60 Characters Per Line

Don’t type all the way across the page…it’s to hard to read. Plus, some email clients will automatically break the line off at 65 to 70 characters anyway.

This can really ruin the readability of your email especially if you haven’t formatted it correctly in the first place.
