I was traveling on the train in Singapore ( call the MRT) a few days ago when i saw three young man and woman holding up a BIG piece of newspaper as seen below:

Well, the thing is that they are not reading the paper. They are actually showing their advertisement. How do i know? Again, being curious, i take a peek at the other side and shockingly found that there are no content there. This guys are just using their traveling time to get FREE advertising.

Normally, it would cost you at least a few thousand dollars to advertise on the train. However, no one can fault them as it is normal for people reading newspaper on the train. Just that, this guys are not reading but pretend to read while catching attention and sending their advertising message across, for FREE!

Similarly, in the online world, you can steal traffic like what this guys are doing offline. How? Some examples are posting in forums and commenting on blog with a link back to your webpage. Dada… you got free traffic.
