The Keys To Business Success


The three key elements to any successful  business system is ‘leverage’, ‘duplication’ and ‘multiplication’.

To grow a successful business, the business system need to utilize on a lot of ‘leverage’.  Whether it is leveraging on time, resources, people,  relationship, fame, money etc, it does not matter!

Without leverage, it is NOT possible to grow a business fast…. i mean REAL ‘bullet train’ fast.

The second element is ‘Duplication’, which is also a very important to any successful business sytem.  Your business system must have the ability to duplicate itself successfully across different geography region, culture, IQ and EQ level, education standard, races and religion etc

You probably agree with me that ‘Duplication’ is needed for growth and expansion.  And the duplication process must be simple and easy to follow.  Why?  The simplicity will allow anyone, irregardness of his/her education or IQ level, to follow and create similiar success with the same business system. 

If your business system is duplicable, then it will also increase the selling price of your business (if you choose to sell it off eventually).

Last but not least, you want a system that is powered by ‘viral marketing’…. meaning… it has the capability to multiply and grow in a controlled but exponential way.  Growth is the name of the game in any business.  Whoever grow the fastest will capture more of the market share and push other competitors out from the league.

Growth can only be achieved when your business system is multiplied many times more, and put money in your pocket as quickily as humanly possible.

Think about how you can incorporate ‘leverage’, ‘duplication’ and ‘multiplication’ in your internet marketing system whenever possible.  You need them. :-)

In my last posting, i talk about the greatest secret in copywriting.

Today, i will reveal to you the greatest secret in marketing.

Here is the greatest secret:  “In business, if you want to be rich, you sell products and services. But if you want to be filthy rich, you control the market.”

Let’s put it this way…

If you are a fisherman, do you want to go out in the big ocean to do your fishing everyday or …. do you want to rare your own fishes in your own pond?

You see, if you have a feeding programme where you rare your own fishes in your own pond, you have control.  Everytime you want some fishes, you can always get it from your pond.

Similarly, in marketing, you would want to control the market with a feeding programme.

How can you do it?

 Convert every customer of yours to be your business partner or affiliate.   Once they become your customer,  give them the right to trade your product or service for a profit.  And feed them with the right training, environment and incentives to make money as your partners.    This way, they will be your business lifetime customers and partners.

How can they be your lifetime business customers?  As a profitable partners, they will use your product and service, thus making them your faithful customer forever.   They cannot afford to not use your product or service as they are making money from the same product or service.

Now you have a market that is controlled by you.  The next step for you is to think of how to expand this market exponentially.  Once you controlled a big market in your niche, you are the king in your market.

The Marketing Gap


This is the key to growth in any business.

 What then is the marketing gap?

It is the difference between what the market want to what your competitors cannot provide.

Let me give you an example based on the my offline business.  Unknown to many, i am into the beauty industry, carrying a product known as Eumora.

This is a piece of marketing secret that is proven to work every time, every where and it will continue to work as long as the human races exist.

Very often, we are paying a lot of money in advertising dollars just to capture the attention of our prospects.  We want their attention!   However, in this ‘Attention Scarce’ Society, everyone is bombarded with thousand and thousand of information everyday. Human are more attracted to bad news than good news.  You might as well leverage on this psychology into your marketing message and work your advertising dollars harder.

No wonder CNN, CNBC and all those TV broadcast are flashing bad news after bad news every day.  Bad News really sell!  You might as well use it to your marketing advantage.

Frank Kern Promoting StomperNet With A Psychological Twist


Mass Control Syndicate founder Frank Kern is deploying his psychological trick once again. 

In the last two days, almost every marketers or gurus out there are promoting Andy Jenkins and Brad Fallon’s Stompernet ( Stomping the search engines 2).  Gurus like John Reese, John Carlton, Michal Cheney, Rich Schefren etc… but Frank Kern promotional email caught my attention.

Why?

 The subject of the email goes like this “Why I said NO to the StomperNet promotion”

May i ask you a question? 

Do you feel intrigue to read the email body to find out why Frank does not want to promote Stompernet while all other gurus or mini-gurus are out there singing priases to Stompernet?

If you answer is yes, then we can contiue… else this blog post is not for you. (another psychological trick here: if i ‘take it away’ from you by asking you not to read this blog post, the more you WANT to read.  Isn’t it?)

Frank Kern is deploying a psychological trick on our mind.  He know that the conscious mind cannot be told what not to do but can only listen to what the subconscious mind said.

In this case, as you read the subject, you conscious mind cannot process the embedded ’NO’ message and will automatically look into the Stompernet promotion.

Additionally, it gives you a sense of suspense as you want to know why Frank does not want to promote this product.  It’s like reading a story book, Frank is teasing you into reading the Stompernet promotion.

Then inside the body of the email, Frank is brutally honest as he revealed to you that he is busy with the kids and have no time to review the product just yet but concluded that it must be good, base on past experiences of purchasing or reviewing Andy Jenkins and Brad Fallon other products.

By doing so, he has disarm your unconscious mind from being defensive and suspicion to interest and enthusiam.

How cool can that be if you can understand human psychology and just like Frank Kern, use it to your selling advantage.

For me, i think that as long as you are providing good values to your customers, then it is alright to do so as you are selling them a product/service that allow them to achieve their dreams faster and easier.

Instant Money Switch


I have received an email from Jo Han Mok on the 8/8/2008 with an uniquely oriental oriented flavour.

Inside the email, he invited me to play a jackpot game online to win $888, credited NOT to my bank account but to a new product that he is promoting.

 The product is JD Hamilton’s Instant Money Switch.

In the webpge, JD Hamilton promised to teach you how to make REAL money online as easy as flipping a switch.

A few days later, Jo Han sent out another email with the subject line “My heart really *stop*….”

Why?

Well, in this email, Jo Han revealed to us that JD’s webmaster erroneously included the actual download link to an exclusive Resales License offer on the very webpage itself, so people could have download for free!

Whow! Amazing.

 There could be two possiblilities here. 

One.  What he said in the second email is honest and genuine truth.

Two.  He is setting up a ‘marketing trap’ for other to download the product and put it up for sales before releasing this email to apologise for the mistake and warn anyone who have not *officially* buy the product not to put it up for sales or they could possibly received a lawyer letter from JD Hamilton.

Since those who has downloaded the Instant Money Switch illegally could have put up the product for sales at this point, most ( if not all) will generally make the purchase of the Resales Right of the ‘Instant Money Switch’ as they do not want to *waste* their effort of putting it up in the first place.

Hmm…. if possiblility two is the intention, then this is one of the most brilliant marketing gimmick i have ever seen on the Internet.  It plays on the pschology of man that “Poeple do not like to tear down thing when they have put in sufficient effort to set them up”

So could be it possibility one or two?

Nobody will know.  We can only guess.  Only Jo Han Mok will know….

But, having know Jo Han, i honestly believe that this is a genuine mistake.  Nonetheless, out of this mistake, i have discovered a sneaky little marketing trick that could increase our sales…..

Predictably Irrational - Customer Buying Decision Can Be Manipulated?


I am reading a book entitled ‘Predictably Irrational’ - the hidden forces that shape our decisions by Dan Ariely.

One of the reason why this book interest me is because as a marketer, i want to know what really influence my customer in his daily life.  The human buying decision can be highly irrational.  For example, how often have yourself excitedly buying something that you do not really need?  This book attempt to find order from the irrational buying behavior of human.  Hmm… this really weat my appetite.

The first chapter of the book is ‘The Truth About Relatvity.’ 

What does it mean? 

This has to do with the pschology of human where we tend to compare things with one another but also tend to focus on comparing things that are easily comparable and avoid comparing things that cannot be compared easily.

Confusing?  In general, what it means it that we like to make decison based on comparisions.

For example, if you are ask to select for a subsciption option where option option 1 offer you a web based information for $59 a month.  Option 2 give you the printed edition of the same information at $125. 

Which option will you choose?  Probably you will choose the cheaper version, option 1.

What if i introduce another option in your selection equation?

1)  Web based information at $59 a year.

2)  Printed edition information at $129 a year.

3)  Printed editon information and Web based information at $129.

With the introduction of option 3, most likely we will compare option 2 and 3 as they are the closest in term of pricing and is easier to compare.  We will tend eliminate option 1 from our selection as it is not as easy to compare with option 2 or 3 because of the price difference.

Comparing option 2 and 3 will give us a no-brainer type of selection decision as clearly, option 3 offers better and more lucratic rewards than option 2. 

So with the introduction of option 3, it kind of influence our choices and thus decide our selection decison and subsequently action.
