HardCore Copywriting Lesson Series 5
Quote of the Day: The secret of business, especially these days, is to focus relentlessly on your unfair advantage - the thing you do that others don't.
On my way to work today, i heard a weird advertisement on the radio.
Here’s how it goes…
“Ladies and Gentleman, all companies should encourage their employees to *KISS* their customers.
This will promote efficient sales closure and bring in revenue for their company.”
Huh? What type of advertisement is this?
At this point, you probably asking, Yew Heng, which country do you come from that aired such a pervert advertisment?
Well…. hold on there. Let’s me continue with the advertisment.
“*KISS* stands for Keep It Simple Salesman!
When interacting with your customer, keep thing simple.
Do not complicate things and you will increase your sales”
By the way, this is an ads from a local advertising company.
Keep It Simple Salesman!
or *KISS* for that matter.
When writing a salescopy, keep the sentence simple. Trim out unneccessary words.
Bear in mind that your readers come from different background and culture on the Internet.
By writing simply (at the same time interestingly), your chance increasing the stickiness of your reader to your salescopy is much higher.
Here is how copywriter Jo Han Mok do to test his sales copy. Once, he told us this: ”Show your salescopy to your 5 years old kid. If he/she find it interesting and ask for the product that you sell, then you have a winning sales letter in your hand.”
Try not to use bombastic words to impress, for it may complicate the sales message and can cause undesirable result.
Keep It Simple, Salesman! Do it not just when you are writing your sales copy, do it also in your marketing.
