T Harv Eker And Dale Carnegie

I have attended T Harv Eker’s train the trainer workshop here in Singapore.

When i read on the work of Dale Carnegie, i realized that the stuffs that T Harv Eker taught at his workshop have all its origin from the work of Dale Carnegie.

If the name ‘Dale Carnegie’ did not ring a bell to you, then maybe his best selling book “How To Win Friends And Influence People” will.

During his day teaching at the Harlem YMCA, Dale Carnegie came to the understanding that he need to provide a safe environment where his students could take a chance, even to the extent of failing, without being criticized or blamed.

Instead of the traditional lecturing, he encourages his students to participate, to contribute in discussion with their fellow students.

This is exactly what T. Harv Eker has done! He encouraged us to participate, to share ideas with our fellow attendees and furnish us with praises and encouragement after that.  One of his favorite applaud is to get the participants to ‘high fly’ each other and tell each other that they are awesome!

Most of the time, T. Harv Eker is drinking tea on stage, while his students are busily participating in discussion and activities.  One of the significance observation I made is that the participants learned from each others and are enjoying themselves.  All this is done without T. Harv Eker involvement.  He is just an activities facilitator.

He is like the conductor of an orchestra, making sure that the music flow and the musicians play in synchronization.

Dale Carnegie also strongly advocated removing criticism in his class.  He believed that positive reinforcement was the only way to build confidence.  He focused on what his students did well, realizing that his students were fully aware of the things they had done poorly.

By doing so, he realizes that his students are more attached to him and trust him more than ever before.  With this trust, it makes his teaching even more enjoyable and captivating for them.

This is also what T Harv Eker has done in his workshop.  He never said to someone ‘You are stupid’ or something like that.  Indeed, he used a lot of encouragement words and will not hesitate to render praises as often as possible.

No wonder T Harv Eker can build rapport with his students so quickly.  He makes every effort to show that he accept and like them so that he may gain the trust and friendship from his students.

With the trust that he has established with his students, it is easier for him to influence them in making a buying decision for his backend products later.

Hmm… it seen like all this motivational coaches are just imitating from one another.

Well, this is good news as we now know that we can model after success and that will bring us success!
