The Hook To Entice Your Reader…

Quote of the Day: The secret of business, especially these days, is to focus relentlessly on your unfair advantage - the thing you do that others don't.

In copywriting, you need to create a hook to entice your readers to ‘get-into’ your copy.

They should not say to themselves ”This is something I should read…” but instead be freaking excited and exclaim “On Boy, this is what I WANT to read…”

Your hook MUST be so enticing, controversial, dramatic and extraordinary that you can GET your readers excited.

I have read a sales letter from John Reese and here is the headline:

“Disover The Shocking Behind-The-Scenes Look At Underground Methods Being Used To Exploit The Internet For Massive Profits”

Do this sound exciting?  Read on…

You are being watched.

You are being taken onyour every move.

If you do something…anything.. they know about it.

And i’m not talking about the FBI or the CIA. I’m also not talking about viruses, scumware, keyloggers, or trojan horses hiding on your computer.

Imagine a large, dark van without any windows parked in the shadows down the street from your house right now.. How would you feel if this van was listening everythime you pick up the phone? Or if they ugged every room in your house monitoring every sound?

And what if they knew everytime you leave and where you go?

Would this scare you?

Well, take a deep breath. try to relax for a second.

I need to tell you something…

It’s much worse than this… blah blah blah”

Do this seen like some action triller in the movie?  Are you hooked?

This is what i mean by having a hook in your sales copy to draw the attention of your readers.. to get them to read on… and motivate them to eventually buy from you.  This is salesmanship in print.
